Vegas Diner Menu

The Raffles Café at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino is upscale and serves (mostly) traditional American diner food, though the restaurant itself has a somewhat tropical ambiance to it. The décor is casual and the restaurant overlooks the resort’s beach area. The words “diner” and “café” may conjure up a picture of a small, intimate, less formal dining experience for some people, and while the Raffles Café is indeed casual, both in atmosphere and menu options, there is nothing small about it. This is a big, nice-looking, somewhat pricey Las Vegas restaurant that serves food all day and all night, catering to travelers and hungry gamblers. Vegas in terms of dining usually implies a big menu, downright gigantic portions and a wide range of cooking styles and food ethnicities, and this restaurant is no different. The Raffles menu spans the globe but with an emphasis on tropical-style foods and a definite attempt to cater to the taste buds of the average American Vegas tourist. As with many 24 hour diners, the breakfast menu is the most popular and well-loved.

Breakfast at the Raffles cafe

The most heartily recommended dish from diners at this restaurant is their signature stuffed French toast. This dish is of course, nothing new. Many restaurants known for serving breakfast have adopted the stuffed French toast concept with varying degrees of success. At Raffles however, the popular banana pecan stuffed French toast is very successful. The brioche bread used to make it is fresh, house made, and tastes like it. It is thick and very fluffy. The custard filling is rich and very creamy, with sliced bananas on top that have not been mashed into a paste the way they might be if you have tried dishes like this at other restaurants. Other popular items on the Raffles Café breakfast menu are the eggs Benedict which come both in the classical version and a number of variations like the Filet Benedict. There are also coconut pancakes served with whipped mango butter and a choice of huevos rancheros in different styles and with a choice of accompaniments. The menu also has a quite a few classic American diner staples like corned beef hash, biscuits and gravy, and chicken fried steak. This is the kind of variety that a Vegas visitor expects.

It should also be noted for those who are not fond of breakfast foods, that the lunch menu and dinner menu are also available so that a customer may have prime rib for breakfast if they so desire.  Find the locations for the best Vegas Diners on the strip.
